Yes, absolutely! Think of all the designs as just starting points. We can change colors, fonts, styles, wording…pretty much anything to make it just right for your wedding.
Yes! I LOVE doing new designs, so hit me up with your ideas!
The vast majority of wedding couples include a main invitation, a response card with a mailing envelope and either a details or a reception card. Occasionally we’ll add in a rehearsal dinner or brunch card and sometimes we will omit the response card if you’re doing an online response.
I have two standard papers that I work with. One is a pearlescent (light shimmer) paper and the other is an uncoated paper. Both are thick cardstock at 110 lb. That said, I frequently use alternate papers to achieve the look the couple is going for.
There are three basic starting points for wedding invitations, but of course endless options exist.
Traditional Invitations include the invitation, response card with mailing envelope and a details card. They all get tucked into an addressed mailing envelope and sent to the guests. They are just loose in the envelope. Traditional suites start at $6.00 per suite, including all your addressing. Some couples will add a belly band, ribbon, wax seal or layers to jazz up the suite.
Pocketback Invitations also include the invitation but it’s mounted on a panel pocket. On the back is a pocket to keep the response card with mailing envelope and a details card nice and tidy. This is a great middle of the road option for keeping all those enclosures nice and tidy on a budget. The panel card also serves as a layer and is a great way to bring in another color. Pocketback suites start at $8.00 per suite, including addressing services.
Pocketfold Invitations include the invitation, response card with mailing envelope and a details card as well. For this option the invitation is mounted on the inside of a pocket and the enclosures are tucked neatly in the side pocket. The suite is then finished with a belly band to hold it all together. It’s a great presentation for an elegant event and really sets the tone for the wedding. Pocketfold suites start at $10.00 per suite, including addressing services.
Yes! We can add foil in any number of colors as well as letterpress in many colors. This is a great way to add a special touch to your wedding invitations.
Relax – this isn’t my first rodeo! I’ll advise you on wedding etiquette and let you know what typical wording is. Of course, you’re free to go a different direction but I’m here to help with all of that!
You’ll simply need to stuff your envelopes – no taping or layering! If you’re ordering pocketfold invitations the invitation suites will come to you with the band on them ready to be put in the envelope. For the pocketback invitations you’ll need to just place the enclosure cards in the pocket and If you’re ordering a traditional suite you’ll simply have to stuff your envelopes. Too much for you? Just ask about my mailing services.
Technically invitations can be sent anywhere from 6-12 weeks before the big day. I usually find that sending them around the 8 week more is perfect timing. Save the dates are more flexible but I usually suggest between 9-12 months before the wedding.
I’d suggest you place your order about 6 weeks prior to your targeted mailing date. Once the proofs are approved it usually takes 2-3 weeks to get them from the printer and get the addressing completed.
Remember that most invitations will go to couples or families, so it’s a different count than your guest count. For a rough count, I usually say about 60% of your guest list is a good estimate.
Sadly, no. As you can imagine, creating the design takes a lot of time. I’ve had too many instances that couples took their draft and printed it themselves. That said, there are never any charge for changes prior to proof approval. So if you don’t love something in your proof, just let me know.
I do offer hard copy proofs for an additional fee. Though the vast majority of couples are comfortable with the digital proofs.
To get started, I do half up front and the other half when you pick up your invitations (or prior to shipping). After the first payment is received, I have a simple form to fill out to get your wedding details. We’ll get together in person or have a call to discuss all the design details. From there, I’ll make your first proof. You’re free to make any changes you’d like to the proof. There are never any charges for changes – I want them to be perfect for you! Once we are done with changes, I’ll put together a final proof for you to sign off on. Once I receive your signed approval I’ll send everything off to the printer and in 2-3 weeks you’ll have your wedding invitations!
I can’t copy it, but I can use it as an inspiration for your wedding invitations. Copyright laws (and my morals) prevent me from copying work from a fellow stationery. If you love their work exactly as is, I’d encourage you to reach out to the designer directly
